Howdy!

I'm Dane, a software developer out of Canada with obsessions for programming and art, along with music and preservation! You might know me better as Dev (dev9998) for any modded content for games I've developed and published for quite some time now. This is the hub for anything related to me, it might have some use if you're willing to stick around me, though I plan on expanding this page with purposeful resources for people to use relating to my interests.

Programming History

I've taken up programming as a hobby ever around the start of the decade which I'm approximating would have been either 2020 or 2021.My favourite languages are C# and Lua, which just so happen to be the languages I've used the most and for the longest time. I have studied various other languages like Python, JavaScript, and Udon.I use my experience typically for creating modded content of games, though I'm most known for the mods I've made for Gorilla Tag.Recently, I've picked up creating my own projects from scratch and helping others with programming their own games.

Music Collection

I pride myself for the little music collection I've established since about February of 2026, consisting of mostly CDs and Cassettes with a couple releases on DVD and even Vinyl as well.I began collecting after streaming music in particular felt incredibly useless despite the purpose music has in my life. Not all the music I consume are available through those means, and the means that they've been published onto those platforms often differ in ways that don't align with how I listen to music, like cutting out impactful transitions in between songs to accommodate for playlists.Even if this wasn't an issue, the cost of subscriptions you basically have to pay now just to listen to music is out of this world, and nor am I entirely proud of where that money has gone as well.At this point, I now own physical forms to most of my favourite releases of all time, including some rarities that only ever distributed physically. I've listed some of my favourite albums and the formats I own of them, feel free to check them out if you're interested!Something that has always fascinated me about music happens to be the sound of it regardless of its origin. Now obviously different regions are going to produce their own one of a kind music based on their culture and that sort of thing, but even then some of their people are up to releasing music based on my personal favourite genres, like pop and especially rock, in addition to styles I see myself identifying with more with, like new wave and alternative rock.
